Like all of our Roomba review, the 500 series of Roomba Vacuums is part of the third generation of Roomba vacuums. As such, it takes advantage of all the latest technological advancements that have made Roomba such a success. As we continue on with this Roomba 560 review we will discuss what features the Roomba has as wells as what features are only available on higher end models. We aim to provide you with the information you need to decide if the Roomba 560 is the best vacuum for you.

Features Roomba 560

Like all Roomba vacuums the Roomba 560 is a hands free vacuuming robot that cleans your floors automatically. It’s the ideal solution for anyone that either doesn’t have the time to vacuum everyday, or has better things to do. With the iRobot Roomba 560 you can enjoy freshly clean rugs everyday with little to no effort on your part.

The Roomba uses advanced technologies to ensure that it cleans the entire room as effectively as possible. It starts it cleaning pattern by following a spiraling motion. When the Roomba 560 hits an obstacle it compensates for the location of the obstacle and continues cleaning. The Roomba has the potential to make over 60 course correcting calculations every second to ensure that the entire room is vacuumed multiple times.

The Roomba 560 is programmed with special Wall Follow technology to ensure that areas along the edge of the wall are all thoroughly vacuumed. Specially designed rotating side brushes are used to make sure that the corners between the wall and the floors get well cleaned. It is specifically programmed to tell the difference between hard obstacles and soft obstacles. This allows the Roomba 560 to differentiate between walls and curtains or drapes. If it runs into a curtain it knows to keep right on cleaning, but when it runs into a wall it knows it needs to change its course. The Roomba 560 also comes with two Virtual Lightwalls. These are barriers which can be set up in order to contain the Roomba. They instruct the Roomba to act as if it had encountered an actual wall. They are useful if you only want to clean a certain room or area.

Click Here to Get Your Roomba 560 Vacuum

The Roomba 560 uses a three stage system of cleaning that ensures it picks up the maximum amount of dirt, dust, and debris. It picks up dirt and debris through the use of counter rotating brushes. The collected dirt is stored in a storage bin so that it can be disposed of at a later time. The effectiveness of the Roomba 560 is further increase through its use of dirt detection technology. The Roomba is designed to detect areas of the floor which are dirtier and then it spends additional time vacuuming there. This helps to ensure that the floor becomes as clean as possible.

The Roomba 560 is able to transition from carpet, to hardwood flooring, to other types of flooring without any difficulty. It detects the type of floor it’s cleaning and then applies the most effective cleaning methods for that floor. It has specially designed anti-tangle technology that allow it to transition for flooring onto area rugs without getting caught in the tassels. This way you won’t have to worry about the vacuum getting stuck while you’re away.

The Roomba 560 allows for totally hands free use with it’s scheduling and auto recharge technology. It allows the users to schedule up to 7 different times that the vacuum will clean. This allows you to have your Roomba clean at the times that are most convenient for you. Imagine leaving for work in the morning and coming home to a freshly vacuumed home. With the Roomba 560 scheduling feature it’s possible. Don’t worry about the Roomba’s battery dying in the middle of cleaning. The Roomba 560 can auto detect its charging station and return to it when it’s battery is low or when it’s finished cleaning. All of these features are easily accessible through a simple push button interface.

Possible Upgrades Roomba 560

As wonderful as the Roomba 560 is there are some additional features that you can purchase to increase the functionality of your Roomba 560. The first is the extra large storage bin. Obviously this will allow the vacuum to clean more before the storage container needs to be emptied. This is especially usefully for people that take advantage of the scheduling features and want an even more hands free experience. An extended life battery can be a benefit, allowing to the Roomba 560 to run longer without needing to recharge. When used in combination with the larger storage bin it can equate to a lot more cleaning.

What it lacks Roomba 560

As wonderful as the Roomba 560 is, there are some features that are only available on higher end models. See the Roomba 780 review. The most notable being room to room navigation technology. While the Roomba will eventually find it’s way through door ways into other areas of your home, room to room navigation ensures that an entire room will be cleaned before the Roomba proceeds to the next room. This function can be copied through the use of virtual light walls but it requires a bit on work on the part of the user. Secondly, the 500 series Roomba vacuums don’t come equipped with the dual hepa filter filtration system. Meaning, that some small particles picked up by the Roomba may become airborne. While this noticeable for most people it can be a real problem for people with allergies or people sensitive to pet dander. For the most effective filtration system available with the Roomba check out the Roomba 780. There are some companies advertise hepa filters that fit the Roomba 500 series vacuums. However only the 700 series vacuums are rated as hepa filter approved.

Despite lacking a few features the Roomba 560 has a lot to offer. When comparing the prices of the 560 with the higher models it becomes clear that the 500 series Roomba vacuums offer a lot of bang for the buck. This is why the Roomba 560 gets my vote as the best Roomba for the money. I hope you enjoy yours.

iRobot Roomba 780 Review

The Roomba 780 review will cover iRobots top of the line self vacuuming robot. We will cover what sets the vacuum apart as well as other features that it shares with lower priced Roomba vacuums. We want to provide you with the information you need to decide if the Roomba 780 is right for you, or if another roomba would better suit your purposes.

What Sets the Roomba 780 Apart

The primary feature differentiating the iRobot Roomba 780 from other roomba vacuums is it’s room to room navigation feature. Room to room navigation allows you to identify the specific rooms in your house. By doing so, the roomba makes sure it has entirely cleaned one room of the house before moving on to the next.

The Roomba 780 is also the only available iRobot vacuum available with a touch pad interface. This eliminates all other buttons on the Roomba. The touch pad interface uses state of the art technology to provide the users with an easy to understand visual interface, making the roomba even easier to use than it already is.

Advanced technology identifies area of the floor which are dirtier and need “special attention” from you Roomba 780. Direct Detect Dirt 2, also available on the Roomba 770, finds areas that could use extra cleaning and instructs the vacuum to spending additional time cleaning there. This is excellent for cleaning up after pets. It is also a great feature for making sure that walkways get the extra attention that they need.

Roomba 780 700 series features

All Roomba 700 series vacuums share common features that set them apart from other vacuums. Once of the big differences is the dual Hepa Filter filtration system. It allows the Roomba 780 to trap dust particles as small as 0.3 microns. This is key for people with allergies. The dual hepa filter filtration system will trap 99.97% of allergens and dust particles. This will prevent allergy attacks that are often associated with blow back from vacuum cleaners. Some confusion has been caused because some companies offer “hepa filters” for the 500 and 600 series Roomba vacuums. It is important to note that these vacuums are NOT hepa certified and are not guaranteed to provide the same quality filtration.

The Roomba 780 along with all 700 series Roombas use the AreoVac Bin 2 as it’s primary collection container. It allows the Roomba 780 to clean more surface area before it needs to be emptied. This is especially help full for people with carpets or rugs. They tend to shed fuzzy parts which can quickly fill the standard sized roomba bin. People with pets that shed will also greatly appreciate the additional storage of the AeroVac bin 2, holding more pet hair than the standard bin.

The Roomba 780 also shares the same unique features seen in lower models that sets the Roomba line apart from other vacuum cleaning systems. It supports features form daily scheduling. This allows you to run the vacuum at times most convenient for you and your family. For example, many people choose to run their vacuum when they are at work, or while they are sleeping.

After a long day of diligent vacuuming the Roomba 780 will need to recharge. But, don’t worry it won’t take any effort on your part. Once the vacuum senses that it’s battery is getting low it will seek out its docking stating for a recharge. Once it’s recharged it will be ready to go right back to work.

Given the additional features of the Roomba 780. The highly effective Debris pick up and dual hepa filtration system, and extra large storage bin makes the Roomba 780 the ideal iRobot vacuum for anyone wanting maximum clean with minimum effort.
